Defence Mechanisms

A quick paper sculpture I made after trying to exlpain graphically the extension and compression of the blades on the shell of the nine-banded armadillo. After making a concertina and taping each end closed, I can increase the curved surface area just by pushing the ends together, which mimics the defence mechanism of the nocturnal insectivore when threatened.

London to Brighton

The makey/doey/cycley man that is Thom Bird has blogged about me all the way from Brighton. A very kind gesture from a man I hold in high esteem. Have a little read; the further you read through is directly proportionate to the growth of my ego. Thanks Thom.
