FAVORITES

Recently I was sent an email out of the blue by a lovely chap called Derya who works for Woo Magazine. He said that he was putting on a n exhibition in an office / gallery in Emily Carr University, Vancouver, Canada comprising purely of a work found through Flickr favourites, and that he wanted permission to use one of my illustrations in the show. I happily, but cautiously obliged. One and a half weeks later, and I'm sitting here looking at my work in a gallery, without having lifted a finger, and a catalogue on its way to me via airmail. Life is sweet. Here's the press release, and you can peruse in greater detail on WOOMAGAZINE

A couple of my photos of Zineswap's new studio made it to their homepage. SHAZAM.

ZINESWAP HQ

The erratic stapled-paper handlers at Zineswap invited me along to their new Tottenham Court Road studio to give them a hand archiving their library. To you, this may sound more boring than litter picking with a grabber made from breadsticks, but I've recently become quite obsessed with collecting and the psychosis behind the desire for a complete collection as a projection of personal perfection.

Clinic are currently in talks with Zineswap to do a joint event in February, so keep your peepers glued.

Thanks to Rob for arranging it and Gordo for the beer. Fetch them some traffic //HERE//

I'm not going to say sorry or anything.

Yeah, I've been lazy. And what? I've been doing other stuff.

Two prints that the fantastic Hugh Barrell gave me as a present. They were taken on my family holiday in Normandy.

Charlotte Whalen

Documenting police archives in Guatemala, beautiful juxtaposition between order and disorder.

"Charlotte's work as a photographer combines images and text to bring sustained attention to under-examined political, cultural, and environmental issues. She is currently working on two long-term projects: one on development and the subprime crisis in the United States; the other on transitional justice and the aftereffects of Guatemala's 36-year armed conflict. To see more of Charlotte's work from Guatemala, and her work with undocumented Guatemalan immigrants living in the US, visit www.afterlaviolencia.org."
